Workbench LightI previously printed Work Table Light parts on my older printer. Time has shown me the old mount doesn't work very well. It is tricky to get the light to stay where I want it. Since I produced a better loc-line model in my MK4 Camera Mount project, I decided to use it to produce an infinitely sturdier clamp to grab the loc-line for the light. While I was at it, I extended the armature wire through the complete length of the loc-line so it would no longer tend to be floppy at one end. I also drilled a hole through the wood at the base so I could run the power cable up from under the workbench. I think the new design works much better. The base wraps around the loc-line elements and securely clamps them in place with 8 M3x30mm bolts that screw into embedded M3 nuts in the back half. The back half is, in turn, screwed to the plywood. It makes for a very secure base to the light.
The mount for the light at the other end of the loc-line works fine. I didn't change it. |
