Pot RoastTaste: Pretty good.Cleanup: Pretty simple.Ingredients: All available at PublixOriginal recipe at: Perfect Instant Pot Roast The only real work in this recipe is cutting the potatoes and onions into rather large chunks. The original recipe called for peeling the potatoes, but that is way too much work :-). You also need to clean the bowl you mix the water and gravy mixture in in addition to the instant pot liner. Other than that, it is dead simple. Another of my favorite kind of recipes where you dump everything in the pot and forget it. No browning of the meat required. I used a package of already cut up beef labeled "for stew", not sure if it is chuck roast, but it was about 2 pounds and only needed to be dumped in the pot. Tastes pretty good. I may have put in too many carrots, but it isn't bad. I've had more tender meat in a pot roast, but for zero prep this was pretty good, and it wasn't like leather or anything, just not perfect. Some celery in addition to the carrots and potatoes might have been good. P.S. I've taken to almost always putting in a can of the flat Italian style green beans (drained first) to have more than just carrots as a recognizable veggie. |
