Can Crusher

We didn't get trash pickup one week due to a hurricane scare, and I was running out of space in the recycle bin, so I designed and built this can crusher:

Side view.

Place poor unsuspecting can inside.

Crush bottom half to get started.

Flip can around.

Perform final crush

See flattened can.

Toss in recycle bin.

No more recycle bin space issues.

One inch dowel for hinge and handle extension. Plywood and 2x4 plus lots of screws and glue. Works pretty well, but I have to do two passes crushing the can, flipping it around, then crushing it again to get maximum crushage.
