DIY Egg McMuffin

This video on freezer meals begins with a DIY Egg McMuffin you can mass produce and freeze.

I decided to give it a try. Things I learned:

Canadian bacon comes with 10 slices (at least the package I bought), so 4 of the 6 muffins I manufactured have two slices since I couldn't imagine using them up any other way.

My crumpet rings I used for the eggs leak eggs out the bottom which get high enough to leak into the seam where the top and bottom of the ring is rolled over. If I want to do this again I should maybe get silicone rings without any knooks and crannies to accumulate hard to clean bits of egg. I should also probably get a tiny spatula I can go around the edges with to separate the egg from the ring.

I really need my kitchen renovation to get enough space to layout 6 toasted and separated English muffins.

The best plan for reheating seems to be microwave for two minutes wrapped in moist paper towel. I'll see how they are when I get around to trying one...

Update: Tried one in the microwave. Two minutes seemed to work. It looked like most of the American cheese stuck to the paper towel. It is very drippy when biting it, perhaps juice from the bacon? Tasted fine though.
