Cacio E PepeHaving gotten my Pepper Cannon and finished all the 3D printed accessories for it, I decided I must make Cacio E Pepe. I used my drill attachment to fill up a vial with just shy of 30ml of pepper (two tablespoons), and I used the Ceramic Grater I bought to grate the Parmesan and pecorino Romano. The ceramic grater produced perfect consistency cheese for mushing into a paste with the pepper and olive oil, and the sauce was wonderful and creamy after the pasta water got stirred in. I read lots of horror stories about clumping, but I had no problems. It was as delicious as I suspected it would be. It also reheats in the microwave if you sprinkle a little water on it and blast it 30 seconds at a time with a little more water and turning it over or mixing it up between microwave sessions. It eventually becomes edible rather than a solid block of pasta. For such a simple dish, I did have to clean up a lot of stuff though :-). |
