Beer BreadSaw this beer bread recipe on the Good Eats episode "Fermentation Nation" and it looked delicious and trivial to make (or delicious if most of the alcohol cooks out anyway), so I thought I'd give it a try. I certainly love cheese and dill, so it seems promising. This effort was helped by the discovery that the Whole Foods near me sells individual cans of various fancy schmancy beer and ale, so I didn't have to buy a six pack or several bottles. It is in the oven now, so I'll find out if I like it later today... Took a lot longer to hit 210 than expected, but eventually made it at about an hour and 20 minutes. Tastes OK I guess, but not as delicious as I'd hoped. Still isn't bad to grab a slice for a snack. I don't detect any dill at all. |
