Pot of Beans

This pot of beans recipe from the Washington Post is one I have made a few times now (usually with navy beans). I don't do any overnight soaking (and I don't add any kombu). They are a nice side to have through the week with other things, or sometimes I dump in some ham and turn it into ham and bean soup. My 3 liter pot works well for one bag of beans.

Dumping the beans in a quarter sheet pan (about 1/3 at a time) seems to be the simplest way to sort through them for stones and such.
