Suggested scripts for the impeachment hearings

Note that at no time do I invoke the Mueller report, but if you wanted to add another 10 obstruction charges, you could bring it into play.

Introduction The America people deserve to know the evidence for impeachment. The purpose of these hearings is to lay the facts out for the citizens and let them see the evidence. We have no expectation the senate will convict. They might, or they might all go on record saying, "We don't care how guilty he is!", or they might even hide behid Mitch McConnell's skirt while he refuses to bring a trial in the senate. Whatever the senate does will be useful information for the American voters to inform their decisions in the 2020 elections.

Crimes against Humanity:

Q: Does family separation, kiddie concentration camps, inhuman conditions in the camps constitute crimes against humanity?

A: Absolutely.

Q: Do we have evidence to assign blame for these conditions?

A: Yes. The President's own statements have made it clear that cruelty is the official policy. He is proud of his crimes at the border.

Q: So we don't need to call any witnesses or obtain any testimony from administration officials?

A: Correct. The case for crimes against humanity is cut & dried.

Closing statement: I move we make crimes against humanity the #1 article of impeachment.

Tax returns:

Q: Is the law on congressional access to tax returns clear and unambiguous?

A: Absolutely clear. There are no exceptions. The Ways & Means chairman asks, and the IRS shall provide.

Q: So would refusing to provide the returns fall into the category of obstruction of justice?

A: Yes, absolutely.

Closing statement: I thank the witness and ask the American people to consider what might be in the President's tax returns that makes it worth committing obstruction to keep them hidden.

Subpoenas:

Q: Is refusing to allow all administration officials to obey lawfully issued subpoenas obstruction?

A: Yes, absolutely.

Closing statement: I wonder what the administration is afriad will come out in testimony to make it worth committing obstruction to prevent that testimony?
