Bed Temp Test

Just out of curiosity, I wanted to know how long it really takes to heat up the top of a glass or ceramic bed, so I got a grill surface thermometer and timed how long it took for the temperature it reads to stabalize.

Thin glass bed

Time Thermometer Thermistor
0 - 26.4
2 40 60.7
4 45 70.9
6 50 85.0
8 52 91.9
10 55 94.9
12 60 93.4
14 62 95.1
16 65 93.9
18 65 95.3
20 65 95.0

Looks like the needle isn't gonna move above 65, which is well short of 95, but I have no idea how accurate the grill thermometer is (especially at the low range it is designed for). The main point is that the needle hasn't moved for a while.

So it looks like a good rule is 15 or 16 minutes from turning on the bed heater till the top of the glass is as hot as it is going to get.
