Oatmeal

Taste: Pretty good.

Cleanup: Just the oatmeal bowl.

Ingredients: All available at Publix

I put a half cup of regular rolled oats and one cup of water in a steel bowl on a trivet in the instant pot (with more water in the bottom of the instant pot). Set it to manual for two minutes and make sure the instant pot lid is sealed. Let it cook then natural release (usually about 15 or 20 minutes total).

Take out the trivet, take off the bowl, add goodies, eat.

Got this recipe from Single Serve Instant Pot Oatmeal.

Tastiest add-in so far is maple syrup and cream.

Weird side effect: The stainless steel bowl I use for the pot-in-pot cooking gets light brownish splotches from the oatmeal. A paste of baking soda and disk soap left on it for an hour or so will clean it off, but that is a pain (and uses up baking soda fast).

Maybe I'll see if I can get a large enough ramkin to cook in. They seem to be instant pot safe, and perhaps ceramic glaze won't get stained by oatmeal.
